Publisher:  Candlewick Press

Goodreads | Amazon

Sixteen-year-old Jude has to get out of tiny Churchtown. She has to escape her outcast status and her pathetic dad, who hasn’t gotten past her mother’s death. The one bright light is drama, her way out, if only she can get into the Lab, a prestigious program in London. Then Stella, Jude’s childhood best friend, swaggers in after years away. With bold and magnetic Stella by her side, Jude knows she’s capable of anything. But Stella’s influence extends well beyond the theater. Soon Stella’s wild and dangerous streak begins to cause trouble for Jude -- yet Jude can’t bring herself to abandon Stella and the attention she’s always craved. And besides, now that Stella’s back, there’s no stopping her. In Jude’s dark and tangled story, British author Joanna Nadin plumbs the aftermath of loss and the consequences of becoming the person you always wished you were.

She’s back. Jude’s childhood friend -- sexy, daring Stella-- returns to their stifling hometown, and life will never be the same again.

First Thoughts: I was like ooh, the author has my first name! (Yep, that's how it started) and the plot sounded interesting so I decided to check it out.

Cover: It's not the best cover, but I still really like it!

Setting: The setting Churchtown where Jude wishes to leave. The perfect decent beginning setting, then the Lab, a program in London where she wants to get into. The setting is slightly confusing, but it was great.

Characters: Wow, I really love Ed. He is so sweet and caring. Emily is the B-word and so is her boyfriend, Blair. Jude is an excellent narrator, she feels like a outcast which she is and always wishes to be love her best friend, Stella who isn't really only her "friend", but more. No more talking about Stella's and Jude's relationship or it will spoiled it. Stella is everything Jude wanted to be. Beautiful and amazing. I love all of the character and Joanna is an excellent writer.

Plot- The plot at first seem like a normal plot, but it was so surprising at the end making me gasp and say "what the hell happen?" Jude's life is no normal plot, it's surprising.

Recommands: People who wished to be someone else.

Take my Breath Away Thursday (Late!)

Take My Breath Away is a new memo created by pageturnersblog.com. Each Thursday I will post quotes that takes my breath away.

"No one really needs me," he says, and there's no selfpity in his voice. It's true his family doesn't need him. They will mourn him, as will a handfull of friends. But they will get on. Even Haymitch with the help of white liquor  will get on. I realise only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.

"I do," I say. "I need you." he looks upset, takes a deep breath as if to begin a long argument, and that's no good, no good at all, because he'll start going on about Prim, my mother and everything and I will just get confused. So before he can talk I stop his lips with a kiss."

- Katniss and Peeta from Catching Fire

"You have carried my heart in your hands tonight but I have felt as if you carried it long before that"
- Holly Black (Valiant)

"Clever as the Devil, and twice as pretty."
-Holly Black (White Cat)

"Once someone's hurt you, it's harder to relax around them, harder to think of them as safe to love. But it doesn't stop you from wanting them."

-Holly Black (White Cat)

"I can't trust the people I care about not to hurt me. And I'm not sure I can trust myself not to hurt them, either."

-Holly Black (White Cat)

"I need you to be happy. I need one of us to be happy."

FORGOTTEN

 Forgotten by Cat Patrick
 Pages: 288
 Series: N/A
 Release Date:  June 7, 2011
Publisher:  Little Brown Books for Young Readers

Goodreads | Amazon

Each night when 16 year-old London Lane goes to sleep, her whole world disappears. In the morning, all that's left is a note telling her about a day she can't remember. The whole scenario doesn't exactly make high school or dating that hot guy whose name she can't seem to recall any easier. But when London starts experiencing disturbing visions she can't make sense of, she realizes it's time to learn a little more about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

First Thoughts: Well, I think the plot sounded amazing and everyone said that it was a good book so I decided to buy it.

Cover: I really like the cover, I like the cracks in the words and the girl behind the words even if she don't have red hair like in the book. Not my favorite cover, but still nice.

Setting: The setting is school and her house where she fells asleep, but when waking up remembering almost nothing. Every with the setting, it gets you a tug in the stomach.

Characters: All I can say about the characters and WOW, London is an amazing narrator. I love her voice and every time she spends time with Luke, I get this good feeling. London is one of those rare main characters that don't make me want to scream and stop reading. She is the character that have me wanting to read it again and again. (I did, two more times)

Plot: What can I say about the plot? I say it's wonderful, Cat Patrick have became one of my favorite workers now because of the plot and story of London.

Recommends:  People that loves romance, no EVERYONE IN THE WORLD.

A KISS IN TIME

 A Kiss in Time
by Alex Flinn
 Pages: 371
 Series: N/A
 Release Date:  December 8, 2010
Publisher: HarperCollins

Goodreads | Amazon

Talia fell under a spell. . . .
Jack broke the curse.

I was told to beware the accursed spindle, but it was so enchanting, so hypnotic. . . .

I was looking for a little adventure the day I ditched my tour group. But finding a comatose town, with a hot-looking chick asleep in it, was so not what I had in mind.

I awakened in the same place but in another time—to a stranger's soft kiss.

I couldn't help kissing her. Sometimes you just have to kiss someone. I didn't know this would happen.

Now I am in dire trouble because my father, the king, says I have brought ruin upon our country. I have no choice but to run away with this commoner!

Now I'm stuck with a bratty princess and a trunk full of her jewels. . . .
The good news: My parents will freak! Think you have dating issues? Try locking lips with a snoozing stunner who turns out to be 316 years old. Can a kiss transcend all—even time?

First Thoughts: Well, I loved Beastly, it was a fun read and I thought, "hey, I wonder if A Kiss in Time is fun to read to!" I have always wanted to read a modern retelling of one of my favorite fairy tale of all time, Sleeping Beauty.

Cover: The cover is simple and pretty, I love the flower and the forming of the title, not too much and not too little.

Setting: I love the setting in the modern world and not in the castle of Talia.

Characters: I love Talia, she is hilarious. I love reading her point of view and how she lives in a world where she's no princess. I love her voice and attitude. So enjoyable. Jack was an okay character to me, but I love that he is so sweet after getting to know Talia and having the guts to say "I don't want you." to his cheating pretty ex-girlfriend.

Plot- The plot is a fantastic and amazing retelling of Sleeping Beauty and I know I will read it over and over again.

Recommends: To all fairy tale lovers and all of Alex Flinn's fans!!

ASHES OF ANGELS

Ashes of Angels by Michele Hauf
 Pages: 242 (Hardcover) (Netgallery)
 Series: Ashes of Angels
 Release Date: July 26, 2011
Publisher: Harlequin

Goodreads | Amazon

As a muse, Cassandra Stevens had been warned of the Fallen angel who’d one day come to impregnate her
with a nephilim, an evil offspring. But no one could have foreseen that Samandriel—the raven-haired, silver-winged Fallen one—would sweep her off her feet.
Against all good sense, Sam stirred her suppressed desires, yet for her own sake she dared not arouse his carnal ones. For Sam had been summoned to earth by a dark vampire lord. And more Fallen were on their
way. Despite the dangers, Cassandra needed Sam by her side, for only together could they prevent the
apocalypse that had been unleashed…

First Thoughts: I was like ooh, it's about angels and fallens!!!! I want to read this thing!
(PS to the author, I am so sorry that I am late :( ))

Cover: The cover is okay, it's not the best, but it good enough.

Setting: I love the setting, the setting is is kind of peaceful, but also very dark because of the legends of fallens and vampires.

Characters: The characters are very solid, I love Cassandra and Sam, they are so adorable. All of the characters are very lovable and awesome.

Plot: The plot is fantastic, but it kind of went too fast, too rush, but it was so cool and fighting.

Recommends: Fallen lovers fans and angels fans.
