ANGEL BURN

 Angel Burn by L.A Weatherly
 Pages:464 (Hardcover)
 Series: Angel Trilogy Book 1
 Release Date:May 24 , 2010
Publisher: Candlewick Press

Goodreads | Amazon

In a world where angels are beyond redemption, Alex thinks he's found one that might deserve mercy. Alex is a ruthless assassin - of angels. Forget everything you've heard about them before. Angels are not benign celestial creatures, but fierce stalkers whose irresistible force allows them to feed off humans, draining them of their vitality until there is barely anything left. As far as Alex is concerned, the only good angel is a dead angel...until he meets Willow. She may look like a normal teenager but Willow is no ordinary girl. Half-angel, half-human, Willow may hold the key to defeating the evil angels. But as the hunter and the hunted embark on an epic and dangerous journey and Willow learns the dark and terrifying secrets of her past, Alex finds himself drawn to Willow...with devastating consequences. Eoin Colfer reinvented the fairy, Stephenie Meyer reinvented the vampire, L.A. Weatherly reinvents the angel!

First Thoughts: I switched Across the Universe with this book because I felt that it was going to be good. So I switched the book I been waiting to get with this one, a book that i never heard of.

Cover: The cover is stunning! I really love it, it have a light glow in it showing the beauty of Willow which is amazing.

Setting: I like the setting, normal high school and students who mostly have no idea what is happening outside from the school or inside. A good school setting sometimes and a good outside setting.

Characters: I really like Alex, he's awesome. I also like that Willow is not perfect and she is a beauty person inside and out. The only thing I don't like about the two is that they fall in love so fast!
Alex is like "oh she is so beautiful." and "I love her." So is Willow! I don't feel the connection between them. But they are cute together, so I getting to let it slip a bit. I also hate how they are like "I'm going to die!" and "No Willow!! She going to die." I really hate when characters are like that, that is way close to the end they annoyed me. Bu they are good, solid characters though.

Plot: I think the plot is amazing, turning the belief of angels as good to angels as beautiful monsters sucking people's energy who don't know they are getting weak, the people are given "angel burn" and they thinks that the angels are helping them, It is different and original. I have a good feeling that this trilogy will be good. What if we were always wrong about angels and L.A Weatherly brought it to us with this book.

Recommends: Fluffy romance lovers.

THE CURSE WORKERS: WHITE CAT

 White Cat by Holly Black
 Pages: 310 (Hardcover)
Series: The Curse Workers Book 1
 Release Date: May 4, 2010
Publisher: McElderry Books

Goodreads | Amazon

Cassel comes from a family of curse workers — people who have the power to change your emotions, your memories, your luck, by the slightest touch of their hands. And since curse work is illegal, they're all mobsters, or con artists. Except for Cassel. He hasn't got the magic touch, so he's an outsider, the straight kid in a crooked family. You just have to ignore one small detail — he killed his best friend, Lila, three years ago.

Ever since, Cassel has carefully built up a façade of normalcy, blending into the crowd. But his façade starts crumbling when he starts sleepwalking, propelled into the night by terrifying dreams about a white cat that wants to tell him something. He's noticing other disturbing things, too, including the strange behavior of his two brothers. They are keeping secrets from him, caught up in a mysterious plot. As Cassel begins to suspect he's part of a huge con game, he also wonders what really happened to Lila. Could she still be alive? To find that out, Cassel will have to out-con the conmen.

Holly Black has created a gripping tale of mobsters and dark magic where a single touch can bring love — or death

First Thoughts: Well, my friend introduced me to it and the series like today and I was like "hm, it's by Holly Black, so it might be good like all her other books. But I didn't expected to fall in love with it and finished it in a day!

Cover: The cover is awesome!!! I love how he is holding the white cat which is what the book is called White Cat. It goes perfectly with the title which I like. One of my favorite cover of all time.

Setting: The setting is amazing, so dark and detailed with the curse workers. Dark and fitting for the book. I love it.

Characters: The characters are awesome and solid, Cassel's voice is strong and can be calm at the same time. I like everyone in this book except Lila's brother who I don't care to remember his name. Everyone in the book is unique in their way somehow.

Plot: White Cat is about a seventeen year old boy named Cassel who is a outside in his family which are curse workers, oh so he thought. He killed his best friend, Lila when he was little, then started having dreams about a white cat. White Cat is a dark, detailed plot that makes you want to read it forever if you are into this types of books and when it ended, you just have to get the next book. It is unpredictable that makes you sometimes go "that the hell just happen?!" It is detailed perfectly full with slight romance, dark and details.

Recommends: Everyone in the universe!!

LEGACY

Legacy by Cayla Kluver
Pages: 492
Series: Legacy Book 1
Release Date: June 28, 2011 (NetGallery)
Publisher: Harlequin

Goodreads | Amazon

I noticed his eyes. They were blue, sharp and intense.
Despite the youthful glow of his suntanned face, his eyes were
cold and unfriendly, suggesting he had great experience in the
world and was now expecting the worst.

A CROWN PRINCESS
A SCANDALOUS SECRET CRUSH
A KINGDOM ON THE BRINK OF DISASTER

In her seventeenth year, Princess Alera of Hytanica faces one duty: to marry the man who will be king. But her father’s choice of suitor fills her with despair.
When the palace guard captures an intruder—a boy her age with steel-blue eyes, hailing from her kingdom’s greatest enemy—Alera is alarmed…and intrigued. But she could not have guessed that their clandestine meetings would unveil the dark legacy shadowing both their lands.

In this mystical world of court conspiracies and blood magic, loyalties will be tested. Courage won’t be enough. And as the battle begins for everything Alera holds dear, love may be the downfall of a kingdom.

First Thoughts: I love YA books and when I was searching, this book just sounded interesting to me. So I request and read it :)

Cover: Eh, it's isn't the best cover, but it still good. It shows Alera as the princess and that about it. I don't adore the cover, it just normal to me.

Setting: I love that it like one of those kingdom setting with princesses and kings and suitors. I am a sucker for settings like this one. It's in past tense obviously, but it is quite ungiue, because it is not all about historic romance fiction at all, not taking place in  any histortic places, just imagination mostly.

Characters: I like the name, Alera, she had a great voice, but she mean me want to punch her like in the first few pages, but it's cool now. I LOVE Narian! He's mysterious, cold, but he have a light side if you get to know it, he is totally handsome and I fell for him right from the beginning when I first say him. And I HATE Steldor >:(!!!, he is just like a older annoying, too handsome rich brat. All of the characters are solid most of the time, but sometimes they are like not..

Plot: I love the plot and everything about this book except Steldor, ugh. I love the rivalry between the two kingdom. One kingdom the males are the rulers an warrior, which is Alera's father's kingdom and the other is the exact opposite.

Recommends: Everyone in the world who loves this type of book: fiction and a little historic fiction and don't forget the hopeless romance people out there!
